Elisa Spungen Bildner is a professionally trained chef, as well as a former lawyer, journalist, and CEO of a perishable food manufacturing company. Robert Bildner is a former lawyer who grew up in a food family and went on to found several food companies that helped local farmers bring products to market. He also studied photography. Elisa and Rob have lived in the Berkshires for 35 years and interviewed and recorded the stories of the farmers and growers in the book.


Chef Brian Alberg is the former executive chef of the Red Lion Inn and is vice president of culinary development for Main Street Hospitality Group. He thoughtfully interpreted and developed recipes using the farmers crops.
