The K. Dun Gifford "Local Hero" Award
Honoring a New Englander who through some medium of food (author, writer, educator, chef, grower, producer, activist, nutritionist) has positively affected our local food ways (selected by TRF committee)
We are honored to recognize Frances Moore Lappe.
K. Dun Gifford, a long-time advocate of cultural food traditions and ingredients including the Mediterranean Diet and olive oil, founded the nonprofit food and nutrition organization Oldways to preserve and promote health, sustainability, tradition and great taste. He was an environmental activist and deeply involved in politics, working as an aide to both Senators Bobby and Ted Kennedy.
Lifetime Achievement Award
We’re pleased to present the first annual award to Jasper White, renowned and revered chef, author, who has contributed to the culinary arts as a mentor and leader. He will be honored for his outstanding achievements and numerous contributions to food and cooking.
People's Choice Cookbook of the Year
Cookbook fans across the region are invited to vote online for their favorite food and cooking books of the year.

A juried committee of established cookbook experts vote on six categories of cookbooks and books related to food written by New England authors OR books devoted to a New England food subject.
