After a career in transportation research and policy, Susan Bregman has returned to her first love – writing books and taking photographs – with a focus on New England nostalgia.

Susan has written four books for Arcadia Publishing: New England Neon, New England Candlepin Bowling, Along Route 1: Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, and New England Sweets: Doughnuts, Bonbons, and Whoopie Pies.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Brown University with a concentration in linguistics and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from the Harvard Kennedy School. Susan loves roadside attractions, plastic lawn flamingos, mahjong, and – of course – New England’s classic sweets and treats. She lives in Brighton.
